On a crisp Sunday afternoon in Munich, Germany, I recently found myself stepping into a modern event space, surrounded by over 300 curious souls—each ready to
embark on a journey unlike any other. We were here for the Holosomatic Experience by InnerCamp, an immersive event promising deep transformation through a fusion
of Somatic Therapies, Breathwork, Bodywork, Tantra, and Energy Healing.

A bold claim that sparked my curiosity. And so, without fully knowing what to expect, I showed up, ready to surrender to 4 hours of exploration under the guidance of Alexis Alcalá—a master teacher in Breathwork, Bodywork, and Energy Activation, and the visionary founder of InnerCamp.

A Holosomatic Experience

From the very first moment, I knew this would be no ordinary event. And I was right. What unfolded was an intense, deeply holistic experience—one that pushed me beyond my limits, yet held me in a space of pure safety and connection. It was blissful yet exhausting, powerful yet nurturing, an intricate dance of movement, breath, meditation, music, and energy work, seamlessly woven together into a transformative journey where time ceased to exist. And not only did I enjoy this extraordinary experience itself, but also the way the InnerCamp team created a safe space for everyone to feel looked after and taken care of. In spaces like these, where strong emotions surface, trauma can be triggered, and vulnerability is at its peak. And so the teams´ commitment to safety and support was important and remarkable.

Blending ancient wisdom with modern science

Founded in 2018 by Alexis Alcalá, who turned his own healing journey into a mission to empower others, InnerCamp has since grown into a globally recognized holistic training institute. Blending ancient wisdom with modern science, they equip individuals with the tools to become skilled holistic therapists through different training programs and a thriving community. While InnerCamp is best known for educating health coaches and practitioners in holistic therapies, they have now begun hosting transformative events across Europe, inviting anyone to experience the life-changing power of Holosomatic Therapy. And after this incredible afternoon, I can say with certainty—this is something you need to feel for yourself.

Following the event I had the pleasure to speak to Alexis Alcalá:

Why do you think the interest in alternative medicine and healing techniques is on such a massive rise in the Western world?

There are several reasons for this growing shift. First, Western medicine, while highly effective in treating acute conditions, often falls short in addressing the root causes of chronic illnesses, emotional imbalances, and stress-related disorders. People are realizing that true healing involves more than just symptom management—it requires a holistic approach that integrates body and mind. Additionally, modern lifestyles have led to an increase in stress, anxiety, and disconnection from nature and the body’s innate wisdom. Many are seeking alternative healing techniques as a way to reclaim their well-being and find balance.

There’s also a rising awareness of ancient wisdom traditions, such as breathwork, energy healing, and somatic therapies, which have been used for centuries to promote healing. With more scientific research validating these approaches, they are becoming more accepted and integrated into holistic wellness practices.

Can you explain the specific approach of Holosomatic Therapy and how it differs from other therapy forms?

Holosomatic Therapy is a body-centered approach that integrates breathwork, somatic experiencing, energy healing, and emotional release techniques to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, process stored trauma, and cultivate self-awareness.

What makes Holosomatic Therapy unique is its multi-layered approach—working simultaneously on the physical, emotional, energetic, and subconscious levels. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which often focuses on cognitive understanding, Holosomatic Therapy prioritizes direct bodily experience, allowing clients to release blockages through movement, breath, and touch rather than just verbal processing. Holosomatic Therapy is rooted in a trauma-informed framework, ensuring that every practice is approached with safety, sensitivity, and respect for each individual’s nervous system capacity. We integrate ancient Eastern techniques alongside modern somatic practices, blending wisdom traditions with contemporary therapeutic approaches. Our method is built on three core components—Breathwork, Bodywork, and Energy Work—allowing our students to choose what best fits their personal and professional needs.

What eventually sparked your interest in alternative healing techniques and made you embark on your own healing journey?

Like many who find their way to this work, my journey began with my own struggles. I was deeply immersed in the corporate world, living a life that was externally “successful” but internally disconnected. Over time, I developed physical and emotional imbalances that conventional medicine couldn’t fully address. This led me to explore different healing modalities—from breathwork to energy work to somatic practices. The moment I experienced the profound effects of these methods firsthand, I knew I had found something powerful. What started as personal healing quickly became a deep calling to share this work with others, which led to the creation of InnerCamp and the development of Holosomatic Therapy.

What was your most profound “aha” moment on your healing journey?

One of my biggest “aha” moments was realizing that healing doesn’t come from fixing what is broken but from integrating what has been disconnected. I had spent years searching for external solutions, trying to “fix” myself, only to realize that true healingcomes from embracing all parts of myself—including the wounded and shadowed aspects. Another profound realization came through bodywork: the body holds deep wisdom, and when we learn to listen to it, it reveals everything we need to heal and evolve. That shift—from controlling to trusting—changed everything for me.

Do you have a daily practice for yourself and what does it look like?

Yes, my daily practice is a mix of breathwork, movement, and energy awareness. I start my mornings with a short breathwork session to set my energy for the day, followed by movement or intuitive somatic exercises—to awaken my body. Throughout the day, I practice micro-awareness techniques, checking in with my body and breath, making sure I stay connected and present. One key element of my practice is adaptability—rather than forcing a rigid routine, I listen to what my body needs each day.

What advice can you give to someone who is just embarking on their own healing journey?

Start with the body. Many people approach healing through the mind—seeking understanding, reading, or analyzing emotions—but real transformation happens when we engage the body. Breathwork, movement, and somatic awareness are powerful gateways to healing. Also, be patient and gentle with yourself. Healing isn’t a linear journey—it’s a spiral. Some days you’ll feel amazing, and other days old wounds may resurface. This is all part of the process. Finally, find a supportive community. Healing is deeply personal, but it doesn’t have to be lonely. Surround yourself with people who uplift and understand you.

What is your advice for someone who would love to turn their passion for well-being and healing into a professional career path?

First, embody the work before teaching it. The best facilitators are those who have walked the path themselves. Make your personal practice a priority and continue your own healing journey. Second, invest in quality training that not only gives you techniques but also teaches you how to hold space ethically, work with different client needs, and create a safe environment. Holosomatic Therapy, for example, integrates both personal development and professional facilitation skills. Third, stay curious and flexible. The wellness field is always evolving, and being open to new learnings will help you refine your approach and stand out. Lastly, trust yourself and take action. Many people get stuck in self-doubt, thinking they need to know “everything” before they start. The truth is, your unique experience and energy are already valuable. Start where you are, and your practice will grow with you.

The main offerings of InnerCamp are Teacher Trainings for health coaches who want to become Holosomatic Therapists. With the Holosomatic Experience, you are also bringing the offering to consumers. Is this the first tour you are doing? And are you planning more of these types of events in the future?

This is the last tour we have done. We started our tours at the beginning of 2024 with groups of 30-40 people, and in the last workshops, we have had over 450 participants—which shows how much demand and interest there is in this work. While the experience has been incredibly rewarding, we will not be doing tours like this anymore because they require a significant amount of time and energy from our team. I am also becoming a father in a few weeks, which means I need to bring more efficiency into the events I facilitate. Instead of spending one or two weeks on the road, we will now focus on city retreats and larger weekend events, allowing for deeper immersion without the logistical challenges of extended tours. Additionally, we want to place a greater focus on educational talks and ensure that participants truly embody the practices. This is why our events will be longer in duration moving forward, giving attendees more time to integrate what they learn and experience. Our vision is to continue expanding Holosomatic Therapy globally, bringing this work to different cultures and communities while refining our approach to create more impactful and sustainable events. We are always evolving, and new offerings will continue to emerge as we listen to what the collective needs.

Thank you for your time – and all the best for InnerCamp.
