Today, we have the profound honor of spending time with a true modern mystic and visionary—Julie Piatt. A constant explorer, mother, artist, musician,  and entrepreneur, her work transcends categories, weaving together ancient wisdom, creative expression, and deep spiritual insight. From her powerful teachings through Water Tiger to her contributions in music, plant-based living, and holistic healing, Julie embodies what it means to live in devotion to the unfolding mystery of life.

In this conversation, we dive into her journey—her perspectives on mysticism, healing, creativity, and what it means to walk an intuitive, soul-led path. We are fascinated by her  story and deeply honored to have her with us.

POH Frank: One thing that really resonates with me about you is the way people refer to you as a “modern mystic.” I’m curious—do you see yourself as a modern mystic? And what does that term mean to you?

Julie Piatt: Thank you. Yes, I fully embrace that description. If we’re going to use any kind of identity label, that one fits. I’ve had an extraordinary experience of life in that I’ve been communicated with through mysticism in profound ways for as long as I can remember.

I think this is because I love communing with life, experiencing events through devotion. But devotion in my own way—not in any structured, religious form. I’ve traveled through different lineages, but I’ve never subscribed to any particular “ism.” It’s simply the natural way of life when you’re aligned with who you are.

For me, the journey has been a quest—one of discovering more of who I am at an individual level. I call it my “life print,” like a thumbprint or a mandala pattern. Each of us has a unique imprint, a path, and ultimately, that journey leads us back to the oneness of all life, to the single breath that animates everything.

POH Frank: Was there a specific turning point where you thought, “This is it, this is the moment I fully embrace this spiritual path”? Often, people experience some kind of trauma or catalyst that propels them in that direction.

Julie Piatt: I’ve had plenty of trauma, but no, that wasn’t my defining moment. I was simply born this way. I came into this world already asking what was beyond the physical realm. I had mystical experiences as a child, though I didn’t have the language to understand them at the time. Even today, I feel the same way I did back then. I remember being in a crib as a baby and having this same deep sense of connection. That never changed.

POH Frank: That leads me to Water Tiger, your platform for healing techniques. It’s fascinating what you offer. So, how do you develop these techniques? Did you learn them somewhere? Are they intuitive? Where does this wisdom come from?

Julie Piatt:  About six years ago, I became deeply aware of all the garbage being transmitted through the airwaves—people filming themselves doing the most mundane things, spewing random content into the collective field. Like you said earlier, there are too many people with megaphones, and it’s overwhelming.

I felt a deep calling to create something that was pure, beautiful, and free from any particular dogma. Something that could be used by anyone, no matter where they come from.

I’ve had many teachers in my life—gurus, Native American chiefs, Mayan elders, Vedic masters, even galactic emissaries. I’ve explored it all. At one point, Isabel ( reference to photographer Isabel Snyder)  and I were working with an occult teacher, doing darkroom meditations, trying to conjure ectoplasm—a substance that mediums use to allow spirits to embody it and communicate. I’ve been down every rabbit hole imaginable.

But after all that seeking, I realized—it’s all about perspective. If I ask the same question to a Native American chief, a Himalayan yogi master, and a galactic being, I will get three different answers. Each one shaped by their unique worldview.

So what did I learn? The most important perspective in my life is my own. And the same goes for you. That’s why I created Water Tiger—a platform that helps people discover their own life print, their unique pattern.

Water Tiger is a way to no way. It’s a living platform of techniques. They aren’t channeled from outside of me—they come through me because they are me. Each of us has unique gifts, and these techniques are one of mine.

Every month, I give a two-hour transmission. It includes planetary updates, perspectives on what we’re collectively moving through, and answers to questions from our community. It’s deep. We talk about embodiment, taking consciousness through the body, stabilizing within the Earth’s tectonic plates. Some techniques dissolve into the void, into the fullness of the black empty space. Others amplify creativity, clear trauma, establish boundaries, or even help communicate with difficult relationships across time and space. There are over 50 techniques now in the portal.

But here’s the thing—I’m not a guru. I don’t have dominion over anyone’s life path, nor do I want it. The user alone is responsible for their experience. My role is simply to provide the tools.

POH Frank: You’re involved in so many different fields—music, healing, writing, running a successful business. Do you see a unifying purpose behind all of it? Or do you feel like you’re an octopus, with all these different arms stretching in different directions?

Julie Piatt: For me, it’s all about intimacy with the beyond—with the Muse, with God expressing through me. Every day, I have one appointment, and that’s to place my lips on the edge of the veil, to meet her there, and to listen. She whispers to me, guiding me. It’s not something outside of me—it’s an aspect of me.

We are all emanations of the breath, the force, the divine—call it God, goddess, creation, whatever you like. Every single person reading this interview right now is just as much a part of it. There is no hierarchy in spiritual awareness. No one is more or less spiritual than anyone else. We are all potentially divine if we choose it.

The breath doesn’t care if you’re spiritual or not. It doesn’t care if you’re homeless or if you’re running a school. There’s no hierarchy—just life experience. We are here to experience life.

From a Dominhurian perspective—a spiritual community in Northern Italy, founded in the ‘70s by a man named Falco—there’s this idea that we each carry a unique energetic imprint. When I first visited in 2008 and later became an initiate, I was given an animal and a plant name as part of a ritual practice. They asked me to take the name of the blue whale, so in the community, I am Balenottera Azzurra.

They gave me that name because I do so many things. They said, “Julie, take an animal that can help you accomplish everything you’re meant to do.” And I love that.

Everyone works with the same techniques, but they choose their own path. There’s no step-by-step process, no rigid structure—it’s all intuitive. The techniques are just something that flows through me, part of my life print. I serve the word, whether that’s through music, writing, speaking, or transmitting energy. It’s just how I express myself.

As humans, I think we need to be reminded of our inherent perfection. Right now, as you’re sitting here, you are already a miracle of creation—not once you’ve achieved something, not after some awakening—right now. Water Tiger is designed to help people uncover deeper layers of themselves, to recognize what brings them joy, because that’s what will expand creation.

It’s not about healing the world because it’s broken. The divine is taking care of everything. The Earth is not some fragile thing that needs saving—she’s a galactic star, undergoing her own transformation. We are just contributing to a certain narrative within this realm, while other aspects of ourselves exist simultaneously in different dimensions of space and time.

Look around—life is shifting at an unprecedented rate. The ground beneath us is not stable, and no one really knows what’s going on. There are so many voices, so many opinions, so much noise. But at the end of the day, the only truth that matters is your direct connection to Source. That’s the only thing that’s real.

POH Frank: Are you planning to host any Water Tiger retreats, or is that something you see happening in the future to bring your community together in person?

Julie Piatt: I might.  I’ve been leading retreats for 24 years. Sometimes I’ve done them with 50 people, twice a year—not all the time, of course, since I have a lot of things going on. But I can say that these retreats are transformative. The people who come are not the same when they leave. They’ve expanded into another version of themselves, another experience of life.

So I would wager that I’m probably not done doing retreats because that’s where I feel deeply connected. However, if you look at yourself as a life form, you came here to experience life in form—because we are in the world of form.

Right now, I’m in a phase of reorganization and transformation—especially with my cheese company, Srimu. I’ve taken this artisanal, plant-based cheese to the highest level that I possibly can. I’ve infused it with the most elevated frequency available to me. It’s best in class, the brand is artful, and it’s profoundly beautiful.

But I am not here to be a food operator. That’s not my gift. I’ve recently had this big realization, which I just announced on social media—Srimu may be closing down unless the right partner steps in, someone who can take it to a global level. That’s still a possibility because so many people love it.

But there’s more. There’s something else waiting for me. And right now, that’s music. I’m moving deeply into music.

POH Frank : It seems like there’s always this push and pull: how much energy do you put into something to make it happen, and at what point do you surrender and let it take its own course? How do you navigate this relationship between being the creator of something and realizing it might not be meant to continue in the way you initially envisioned?

Julie Piatt: Well, it was meant to be. It is meant to be. The question is really—what are the rules you’re playing by?

One of the most important aspects of being connected to life is understanding timing. Flow and timing. That’s what we refine when we do the techniques in Water Tiger. Embodiment practices help you feel timing, rather than just think about it.

Listening to a podcast isn’t a technique. Reading about it isn’t a technique. A technique gives you an experience of something. I could describe a peach to you for two hours, but you still wouldn’t truly know what a peach is until you taste it. Our whole culture is obsessed with information—endless podcasts, books, lectures—but we need experiential knowing. There’s a time for everything. The tide comes in, the tide goes out. There’s summer, winter, fall, spring. There are seasons in a human life.

Are you a baby? A child? An adolescent? A young adult? Midlife? Older? It matters.

In Ayurveda, which is the ancient Indian science of medicine, the answer to almost any health question is always the same: For whom, and when?

Are oranges good for you? For whom, and when?

Should you close your photography business? For whom, and when? It’s never a simple yes or no—it depends on the timing, the individual, the circumstances.

POH Frank:. I’ve been an entrepreneur my whole life, and there’s always this perception from the outside—people see what they want to see. Often, they envy the success they assume is there, but they don’t see the struggles, the sacrifices, or the full reality.

Obviously, I have to bring up your husband Rich Roll’s podcast. A lot of people admire the relationship you two have. He’s built this incredible platform, and it seems like he gives you a strong voice within it as well. From an outsider’s perspective, it looks like this big megaphone, amplifying your voice too.

Are you two collaborating more these days—whether in your cheese business, Water Tiger, or other projects?

Julie Piatt: Wow, well, yeah—it’s been a whole life. We’ve been together for over 25 years.

When I met him, I was already building this land and house. I was dating him while I was building my first home—well, my second home, the one I’m in now. At that point, we were creating everything together.

We went through a huge transformation over a ten-year period. A dark night. A nine-year financial collapse—while raising four kids. We were doing things people thought were insane, and, honestly, we were kind of insane. But I had this deep faith, this knowing that we were being led through an alchemical process—that we were being shaped into something that would allow us to serve in a public way.

During those years, I did so many things. I homeschooled my kids. I created a model of education. I fought for my house in a bankruptcy proceeding—fought for five years—and won. I was supporting Rich, encouraging him to get out of his density, to train, to find himself, to write his book.

So, we lived this deep, intertwined life. And there were moments where we thought, Either we have made every wrong decision and we’re about to be completely annihilated, or we are about to realize all our dreams. It could have gone either way.

I had to surrender—lay everything down at the feet of the Mother—so many times.

And Rich, he’s not like me. He’s not genetically wired for mysticism. He’s much more in his mind, much more extreme in certain ways. He was an Ultraman—he was doing double Ironmans on a plant-based diet. Then he did another race—five Ironmans on five Hawaiian islands in a week.

Now, people do things like that all the time, but back then, it was groundbreaking.

He has nothing to do with Water Tiger. Nothing to do with Srimu. I’m a silent partner in his podcasting business. And now, with the new podcast network that’s launching other podcasters, I’m just a silent partner in that as well.

So now, in our marriage of 25 years, we’re figuring out where we still overlap. Because suddenly, our individual expressions have grown so large that we aren’t as intertwined as we once were. In the early days, it was just him and me, creating together. Now, that’s shifted.

POH Frank: Yeah, I’ll definitely link back to your last podcast together, because I really enjoyed it. There was something about the dynamic between you two—it felt like this beautiful symbiosis. You’re guiding people into the world of mysticism, exploring different modalities, inviting people to stay curious. And he’s doing the same thing—bringing people onto his podcast, exposing audiences to different perspectives, encouraging curiosity.

So in a way, you’re both creating content that helps people engage with life in a deeper way. That’s just my observation.

Julie Piatt: I mean, it’s very clear—Rich and I are complete, extreme opposites.

POH Frank: Yeah, but on the other hand, opposites can come together and create something really beautiful.

Julie Piatt: Yeah, there’s definitely a friction.

POH Frank: Right, and I think that’s also the natural male and female dynamic at play. On one side, you have this ultra-physical, mind-driven energy—an Ultraman athlete, a very structured, goal-oriented force. And then, on the other, there’s this deeply connected, feminine, Pachamama energy, something more intuitive and rooted. In an ideal world, it’s a dance—a beautiful, evolving dance, not just constant clashing.

Julie Piatt: It has its fair share of clashing, trust me. But it’s never boring, that’s for sure. And at the heart of it all, we have four extraordinary beings that we are honored to call our children. All of them are artists. They still live with us. We’ve cultivated a really beautiful family unit, and that’s the richness of life.

We love being together, and that’s such a beautiful experience.

POH Frank : You mentioned earlier that you’re working on a book. You also have music projects, and I’ve been listening to some of your stuff on Spotify, which I really enjoyed.

So, looking at healing and consciousness, what do you think is coming in the next decades? Obviously, you don’t have a crystal ball, but what do you sense about where humanity is heading? Will people become more conscious? Will they become more interested in healing themselves?

Julie Piatt: Well, I can share my thoughts—a sort of short list of what I think is essential moving forward.

First and foremost, developing your direct source connection is essential.

You as God. You have divine intelligence. There is no Messiah coming to save you with a magic wand. And if someone does show up claiming that role, do not give your power away to that consciousness. You must develop your own direct source connection because your body is the intelligence that will guide you and inform your path. When you spend time around certain energies, you are giving your consent to those energies.

Let that sink in.

If you’re observing something that is not aligned with your truth – you are  in a way  giving your consent to it. The direct source connection is more important than ever because we don’t know what’s real anymore. The light has already won. The new world is already here. But we keep calling back the old world from our minds, from our ingrained patterns.

Not everyone is on the same timeline. Some life forms will choose a descending experience. And that’s okay. The challenge is that we will start to see different frequencies coexisting—right next to each other. You might be having one experience, and someone right next to you will be living in a completely different frequency.

There is no ascension—it’s an incension. You are coming into yourself. And these human bodies—these magnificent, miraculous bodies—are self-sustaining ecosystems. We are eternal beings. We are time beings. We can time travel. Close your eyes – Put yourself on a beach in Hawaii. You’re there – Instantly. The body is going to reveal miraculous abilities that we never understood it was capable of.

So protect your body. Take responsibility for your energetic life print. Do what you love. And always choose the higher perspective. Because you are a Christ-conscious being.

Your ego will try to run the same negative patterns because they’re familiar. It will try to repeat ancestral wounds because they feel comfortable. But we can choose the highest expression. We can cultivate a more positive reality. Because we are creating that reality. So—buckle up. It’s going to be a wild ride.

Instead of clenching down and resisting, why not suit up and step into it? Let’s do this. We are eternal. Nothing can kill you. We are alive—right now—on planet Earth.

And trust me—when you shift your perspective, you will start creating magic in your life. Yes, some people will die. Some things will be lost. Relationships will change. Homes will burn down. People will transition out of their bodies. These are all just passages of life. And there are souls lined up, waiting to get into this experience. We’re in the VIP seats of this reality.

We are VIPs. Connect. Don’t separate. Don’t judge.

Find common ground, even if someone voted for the person you hate. Even if they don’t stand up for the cause that you do. Find something small—a flower. Share that flower. Be the love. Because the only way out is through. And we are all going to do it together. I believe in humanity. It is a divine, sacred privilege to be alive on planet Earth right now.

That’s it.

POH Frank: Thank you, Julie, for your time and for sharing your wisdom.
