Kurpark Nagayu is built around the healing properties of Japan’s rare bicarbonate carbonated springs, a natural phenomenon found in less than one percent of the country’s onsen. Inspired by Germany’s Kurort spa culture, the facility offers a medical-grade hot spring therapy .
At the heart of the wellness experience is the carbonated hot spring baths, known for their ability to enhance blood circulation, promote detoxification, and aid in the treatment of diabetes, metabolic syndrome, menopausal disorders, and atopic dermatitis. The 100-meter walking bath is a distinctive feature of the resort, allowing guests to engage in low-impact exercise while absorbing the minerals of the warm spring waters. Unlike traditional onsen experiences, these waters naturally release nitric oxide, a compound that rejuvenates blood vessels and improves circulation, making the bathing process as much about internal healing as external relaxation.
Beyond passive relaxation, the resort actively fosters wellness through guided hot spring exercise classes held twice a week, attracting both locals and visitors eager to improve their overall health. The bathing method is modeled after the renowned therapeutic practices of Bad Krozingen in Germany, where extended soaking at a neutral temperature allows the body to release nitric oxide, deeply warming and nourishing from within.
These wellness treatments align with the philosophy of Hippocrates, emphasizing the body’s natural ability to heal when placed in the right environment. The holistic approach, combined with an architecturally stunning setting, ensures a truly rejuvenating retreat.
At Kurpark Nagayu, the dining experience is as thoughtfully curated as the wellness treatments. The Kur Restaurant, designed with sustainability in mind, is constructed using wooden paper tubes and recycled materials, creating a dining space that feels both intimate and connected to nature. The cuisine follows a philosophy of health-conscious, seasonal dining, with ingredients sourced from local farmers to ensure freshness and optimal nutrition.
Guests are also encouraged to drink bicarbonate-infused water, further aiding in internal purification and hydration. The dining space itself is designed for tranquility, fostering a mindful approach to eating that complements the retreat’s overarching commitment to holistic well-being.
